Chris Hurley Inducted into The Daily Times Wall of Fame!

Chris Hurley

It’s time for me to be a bit of a braggart. Well, I’m bragging about somebody else—so that’s okay, right? I’ve bragged about him before, and I’ve even let him handle some guest posts when my paws were worn down from skittering around on rough sidewalks. He’s our own president, Chris Hurley—and he’s just been inducted into the Daily Times Wall of Fame for his years of business leadership in Blount County. He was honored on Monday night at the 33rd Annual Daily Times Academic Awards held at the Clayton Center for the Arts.

The Wall of Fame honors Blount County leaders in business, government, and service. The Daily Times selected Chris for this honor because of his involvement in community activities for more than a decade. As a member of the Leadership Blount Class of 2013, he helped to develop the Blount Count Youth Court and mentored peer jurors. Through Russell & Abbott, he’s supported different fundraising groups, such as the Blount County Animal Center and Habitat for Humanity.

In 2017 alone, Chris led all of us at Russell & Abbott to donate nearly $80,000 through direct contributions, in-kind services, and volunteer hours. Chris is also a founding member of the Compassion Christian Counseling Center and serves in leadership roles with Family Promise, a church-based program that aids homeless families.

We’re all of us proud to have Chris as our president and to help him set a great example to the local community!

Russell & Abbott provides air conditioning, heating, indoor air quality, and commercial HVAC services throughout Maryville, Knoxville, Alcoa, Blount County, Knox County, and Loudon County.
