They say you can’t teach an old dog new tricks. I don’t agree with that at all! Any dog of any age can be taught new tricks. Now I’m not going to tell you my age, but I know an excellent trick: I’m going to bring back a fantastic offer, one that will help you against the #1 reason for HVAC system failures. And what is that #1 cause of comfort systems failing? Ah, that’s the dirty secret, and it’s …
Russell & Abbott Blog: Archive for the ‘Our Maintenance Plan’ Category
“Wait a minute, Olive, it’s not spring yet—it’s still February.” Oh believe me, I know! I travel everywhere with a nice fur coat, but I can still feel the coldest days down in my skin. But it’s my job as HVAC blogger to always be looking a season ahead, sometimes two, and think about those days when having a black coat means having to pant a lot.
And when I think ahead a season, that puts me deep into spring and our warm, humid weather. I look all around me and hear the whirring sounds of the outdoor air conditioning units. My ears are so sensitive that I can tell which of those ACs haven’t yet received their spring maintenance tune-up just by the sounds they make. You don’t want to have one of those air conditioners that’s already wearing down so early in the year. Now is the time to think about maintenance.
It’s the job of our Comfort Club to see that your air conditioner is prepared for all the hot weather ahead with an early spring tune-up.
A lot of folks in my industry don’t really want to talk about the #1 Reason for system failure. But let me give you a hint: when I say it’s a “dark and dirty” secret, I do mean dirty! And trust me, dogs know dirty!
That’s right. It’s not age. Or brand. Or weather hazards. Or constant adjustments of the thermostat. Nope. The #1 Reason for system failure is dirt.
When you think about it, it should be no surprise why this reason isn’t exactly well-known among dog owners, ahem–homeowners. The fact is, a new system costs thousands of dollars. Yet regular maintenance to prevent system failure is just pennies on the dollar. Get the picture?
So that’s why Russell & Abbott Heating and Cooling is making a strong effort to let this secret out of the bag.
At Russell & Abbott, we feel it is our ethical duty to show you how to: A) Save money, B) Save time and C) Save you hassle and headaches. And you can help us help you by clicking to schedule our 21-Point “Energy Saver” Tune-Up. Here’s why…
- Your system gets fully cleaned, adjusted and reset to factory spec. It’s the same principle as servicing your car on a regular basis or in getting regular vet check-ups for us furry family. It keeps us running in tip-top shape and helps you pinpoint any trouble spots.
Doggone it! What are you waiting on? We have a wonderful offer, but it won’t be around long! Here are just some of the things you’ll receive:
- You’ll get a carbon monoxide test on your system. This is an odorless gas that puts families in real risk if not detected. (a priceless value that typically costs $97.)
- A full tune-up. (a $99 value.)
- Chemical cleaning of indoor and outdoor coils. (a $279 value.)
- Repair-Free Guarantee. If you need any repairs over the next 90 days after your tune-up, we’ll refund every single penny of the tune-up’s cost!
- 100% Return on Investment Guaranteed. Save your tune-up cost in energy usage over the next 90 days (compared to the same period last year), or we’ll pay you the difference.
With all the other extras we throw in, your full service tune-up is a $473.00 value – that we’re offering right now for just $97. This special offer expires on May 5, so hurry!
Now that the secret’s out, take the logical step in true home comfort. Do it now before the hot season makes your system work even harder.
As you know, Daylight Saving Time (DST) has just started. If you have a dog, you’ll know right away everything has changed, because your pooch will want to go outside at a different time of day. Of course, it’s only a different time of day according to the clock: your dog tells time with light. Your body does as well, which is why everything feels a bit “off” for a few days. It’s like jet lag except you aren’t going on a fun vacation.
DST is something everyone accepted for decades as “the way things are.” Now the idea of ditching this spring shift in clocks is gaining popularity. I’ve done my research on this and would like to share with you why Daylight Saving Time exists in the first place, and why it might be time to toss it aside like a chew toy long past its usefulness.
I’ve got a message here, and it’s from the fall: it is time to get ready for cold weather ahead! Some of the technicians here suggested that for my next blog I write explaining our maintenance contract, which we call “Comfort Club Membership.” I tilted my head to show them I was more than glad to do it—although, to tell you the truth, I was already writing up some ideas on that topic. Maintenance is one of the most important jobs that we do, and I’ve always got plenty to say about it!
There’s Never a Penny Wasted on HVAC Maintenance Contracts!
It’s important to keep your Comfort Club Membership up to date. These regular maintenance visits from our trained technicians help protect your heating and cooling systems from unexpected breakdowns. And those unexpected breakdowns mean unexpected costs. But the maintenance contract is more than that: not a penny that goes into keeping up Comfort Club Membership goes to waste. Here’s why:
Most people don’t think that dogs are into planning. We just go with the flow, whether it’s walks, treats, or food. But this isn’t true of all dogs, and it’s certainly not true of me. I plan my time to take naps on my favorite couch so I can properly balance it with working on my blogs, handling PR events, and posing for new photos. I understand the importance of planning ahead… especially when it comes to taking the best possible care of your home’s heating and air conditioning system.
Being a dog comes with tons of “perks.” In fact, life is really almost nothing but perks if you’re a dog. Going for a walk? That’s a nice perk. Getting a treat? Totally a perk. Sun beams falling onto a favorite soft couch? You humans should be so lucky to get such perks!
Here’s something I know for certain about human behavior: you often envy us dogs. Why? Because there are times when we can just lay on the kitchen floor (or on the couch, if we’re allowed) and simply sleep or just do nothing and nothing and more nothing. Now that is what you call peace of mind! It’s wonderful, and we dogs love it. And we’d like for you to experience this level of relaxation as well. Yes, we know you can’t just lie down on the kitchen floor whenever you feel like it and ignore all those “people problems” that make life so hectic—although you’re always allowed on the couch, that’s nice—but there are ways for you to enjoy peace of mind about certain things in life.
8 Great Reasons Planned Preventive HVAC Maintenance Is Smart: Reason #4—It’s Environmentally ResponsibleTuesday, August 25th, 2015
Going through the list I came up with for why you should schedule regular HVAC maintenance, I realized that #4 was going to be easy for me. Why? Well, it’s about something I understand very well: the environment. As a dog, I’m a bit closer to the environment than people are. For one thing, I’m just lower to the ground. You really get to know grass and flowers and bugs and dirt when your head is only two feet away from it when you’re simply walking around. (I can’t imagine how much better Dachshunds and Basset hounds must understand nature!) I also have a keen noise and sharp hearing, and that really brings in all of nature at once, the parts people often don’t notice.
8 Great Reasons Planned Preventive HVAC Maintenance Is Smart: Reason #1—It’s an Inexpensive InvestmentTuesday, August 4th, 2015
I think cats have it a bit easier when it comes to planning for their heating and cooling needs during the year: they don’t really care. Was their food put down? Fine, then everything’s great. Sometimes I really envy cats for that sort of attitude. I have a much harder time keeping cool when the heat rises (it involves panting, a lot of it) and so I’m concerned that the humans around me have planned ahead to see that the air conditioning system lasts all summer. My black coat makes it easier to get through the winter, but I want my human companions to be happy during that time as well with a heater that keeps them cozy.
For these reasons (and because somebody told me I needed to get off my favorite couch and do some work) I’m here to explain to you why scheduling regular preventive maintenance for your home heating and cooling is so important. I’ve come up with 8 reasons, but with my short attention span (tennis ball!) I’ll only be able to do one at a time. Here goes…
Reason #1: It’s an inexpensive investment
Human money confuses me, but I do know it takes more money to fix an air conditioner or heater over and over again, a couple times a year, than it does to have a technician make annual visits to a home for maintenance that will prevent future repairs. And this regular maintenance saves money in other ways as well: the HVAC system will work more efficiently and cost less to run thanks to routine cleaning and tune-ups, and some equipment will have its warranty voided if it doesn’t receive semi-annual maintenance. All around, it’s smart to put a small investment into maintenance in order to prevent other expensive problems.
I’m going back to the couch. Somebody better not have taken my favorite spot while I was gone.
